Sept. 30 Improv Workshop – F*ck Yeah! Improv

Bro Squad 5 is coming to Sacramento for the 1st Annual Sacramento Comedy Festival and I’ll be teaching an improv workshop!  Please spread the word, as this is going to be an amazingly fun class!

Special Workshop: F*ck Yeah! Improv
October 1, 2011
10:00 – 1:00pm

The Bro Squad 5 method of improv we call “F*ck Yeah! Improv!”  Not simply saying “Yes, and” but embracing ideas, movements, themes, motifs, etc. with energy and enthusiasm that can carry you through scenes, even if you’re a few minutes in that haven’t gone well.

Instructor Phil Ranta has been doing improv for nearly a decade all over the world.  For the past year he has been performing and teaching improv and sketch comedy with The Second City aboard their Norweigan Cruise Lines contracts in Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada.  He was also part of the improv team “McShane” that won the Harold competition in the 2009 Los Angeles Improv Festival.  He performs every Saturday night at 9:00 pm with his improv group Bro Squad 5 (brosquad5.com) at Second City Hollywood, writes and segment produces for the award-winning weekly sketch comedy show Top Story! Weekly (topstoryweekly.com) at the iO West Theater, and acts as CEO and Executive Producer of the Comedy Podcast Network (comedypodcastnetwork.com).  He is neither an American Ninja, nor a Warrior.
